I suspect every person with the name Murdock is related, but maybe not so closely even thought it's not a very common name. The name Murdock is Scottish, and if you look it up on the internet, it says the name came into existence in the 12the century. It says the name may be of Norse ancestry, from Vikings that arrives in the British Isles at that time. They Norse have a word, murchadh, that means sea warriors.
